Gerard Darel: A Resurgence of Timeless Design

There’s been a resurgence for Gerard Darel in recent years. The founding family regained control of the brand, released a campaign shot by the iconic photographer Glen Luchford, and expanded its market to over 500 boutiques around the world. Gerard Darel was founded 48 years ago, but finds new life in today’s industry.

In the same manner, their clothes represent a resurgence of the classic. The Parisian based brand is influenced by timeless looks and contemporary design, with their collections a result of the fusion of the two. In the 2016 Luchford campaign, actress Charlotte Gainsbourg appears in black and white in a power suit that is relaxed, with a shorter-sleeved length style and top buttons unbuttoned. It’s a look for today, with the feel of yesterday.

It’s the reason Jackie Kennedy wore Darel and why Angelina Jolie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Halle Berry sport the brand today. The son of Darel told Vogue that the brand is, “…timeless and modern at the same time. It’s trendy but not for fashionistas only. We have had lots of compliments about the way the clothes fit women from all over the world, too, which we are very proud about.”

The curated selection will feature classically styled coats, elegant knitwear, beautifully cut jackets, trousers, dresses, shoes and accessories at up to 80% off. Come check out the sale at Eclipse Sample Sales, 450 W 14th St, Meatpacking, 10014 New-York during the dates and times below:
